Empretec Women in Business Awards 2010

Beatrice Ayuru Byaruhanga of Uganda, who founded Lira Integrated School in northern Uganda in 2000, has won UNCTAD´s 2010 Empretec Women in Business Award. The school, which includes nursery, primary, and secondary education, now has 1,500 students.

Danida and the European Union (EU) have signed a delegated cooperation agreement demonstrating their strong commitment to increase harmonization and aid effectiveness in Ghana.
USAID, DANIDA Unify Approach in Support of Ghanaian Businesses

As multiple country development partners work together in support of economic growth in Ghana, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) today signed a delegated cooperation agreement under which USAID will contribution US$ 4 million to the Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund. This is the first time USAID is delegating authority to a development partner to implement a program on its behalf, promoting the principles of donor agency coordination.
